Student
Life at Mississippi State
Never a dull
moment - the People's University has something for everyone. With
everything Mississippi State University has to offer, every student
can enjoy enriching experiences through
organizations, clubs, and groups - whatever you need, we probably
have it. There are more than 300 student organizations representing
educational majors, religious groups, Greek affiliations, and club
sports.
And if you like to just hang out, we have places for that too.
The Colvard Student Union is a three-story "campus
living room" housing the Dawg House Coffee Shoppe, MSU Bookstore, Food Court, and a Beauty Salon. Meet
and make friends at Perry Cafeteria and the State Fountain where
great food and great friends come together.
The Sanderson Center also offers a multitude of choices through
fitness activities and specialized classes. Don't forget
MSU athletics - unite and support your
favorite SEC sport - we are part of the
nation's best sporting conference. The big boys and girls play
here. You can find all the fun and excitement you need as well as
an enriching learning environment at Mississippi State
University.

The Colvard
Student Union is both a facility and a department which offers a
variety of student programs. The Union, which originally opened in
1964, underwent a major, 17-month renovation and expansion. The
project began in August 2006 and was completed in late December
2007 in time for our re-opening in January 2008.
This is truly a state-of-the art facility and was well worth the
wait. The Colvard Student Union serves as the center of
university community life. Our Event Services office books
the Amphitheater, Lee Auditorium, and all the rooms in the Union in
addition to most other spaces on campus. Come enjoy the many dining
options available on the first floor or sit back and relax in one
of the many quiet, study spaces throughout the building. If getting
involved on campus is something that you want to experience, visit
the Campus Activities Board office or the Center for Student
Involvement on the third floor.
The Colvard Student Union offers a variety of services for
students, faculty, staff, alumni and the entire MSU community. Visit the food court, Starbucks, or C3
on the first floor for a tasty treat. Stop by Union Station Hair
for a quick trim, have your report printed at Bully's Quick Copy
and Shipping, or just grab a few bucks from one of the ATM machines. There are also a number of
administrative offices in the Union, including the Holmes Cultural
Diversity Center, Campus Activities Board, Music Makers, the Center
for Student Involvement, and Event Services.
